Copper

Copper grows in the form of dendrites, free form pieces of sizes ranging from small pellet sizes of only a millimeter or two, up to large plate size pieces or larger, and rhombic dodecahedral crystals. In it's natural state, without any sort of oxidation, it is usually the copper-red color we have all come to associate with American pennies made prior to 1959 that are still in their mint state, but can occasionally include some rosier shades.

The United States is the worlds 2nd largest producer of copper with Chile being the only country to produce more. Other countries that mine significant amounts of copper include Australia, Canada, China, Indonesia, Kazakstan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Zaire and Zambia. In the United States, Arizona is by far the largest producing state, with lesser amounts being mined in Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Michigan and Montana.

From a metaphysical standpoint, copper is both energizing and grounding. It can be used to help energize when the patient is listless, excessively passive or suffering from lethargy but can also balance out the energies in someone who is overly excitable or has restless energy.

Copper is a good choice for use in any sort of non-verbal 2 way communication, whether it is person to person, person to spirit, or a connection to the Universal flow of energy and information. Hold a copper pendant during meditation to help connect with the Source of knowledge.

There have been reports of improved results in telepathy between 2 specific individuals when a pair of copper pendants or rods are used. Each individual should have their own specific piece of copper that is used as an antena or focusing wand when attempting telepathy. This charges the copper with the individuals personal energy. After a period of a month or so, the two testers will swap copper pieces. The connection established through the copper pieces is said to be much stronger than prior communication had been.

Just like in telepathy, copper is also good for any other type of energy transfer and can amplify the energy. Healers often make use of this ability by creating wands out of copper to help transfer the healing energies from the universal flow, through the healers body, out through the copper wand and into the body of the patient. This increased flow of energy can result in a faster healing.

Copper bands placed around the wrist or ankles have been used as far back as ancient Egyptian times to help in the treatment of arthritis, to cleanse the blood of impurities, to balance the chakras, especially the base and sacral chakras.
